Recommendations

Resumes tell you what someone accomplished. Colleagues, leaders, direct reports and customers tell you what it was like to work with them. Sharing a few of my LinkedIn recommendations that speak to the relationships and results built over decades in sales and partner leadership. I selected a mix of public recommendations to reflect various roles throughout my career from leaders I directly reported to, skip level leaders, people that reported to me, peers, customers and partners.

 While I was at VMware, I had the opportunity to work closely with Jared, with him being a key member of my leadership team. I was able to see firsthand his impact as a leader within the enterprise software space. Jared is an exceptional sales manager who possesses a deep understanding of the complexities inherent in enterprise software sales-from navigating long cycles o managing high-level stakeholder expectations and doing so with a strong plan of action to drive deal closures.
 

He is particularly adept at taking a group of talented individuals and transforming them into a well-oiled, high-performing team. His greatest strength lies in his commitment to coaching; Jared doesn't just manage to a quota, he invests deeply in the professional growth of his people. He has a sharp ability to distill complex GTM strategies into actionable execution, ensuring his team remains

focused on the right customer outcomes.


Jared's leadership fosters a culture of excellence and accountability. He would be a huge asset to any senior leadership team, especially within the technology sector, looking to drive meaningful growth and develop elite sales talent. I would highly recommend Jared for any enterprise sales

When people here at VMware would ask me who I reported to and I told them Jared Byrd, EVERY SINGLE person would rave about him. His leadership abilities and instincts are second to none. He can see patterns where most people see chaos. He is a leader of leaders. Rarely did a day pass that I did not learn something from Jared.

 

 His patience and ability to connect and educate are masterful. I am the very best at my job here at VMware because of his guidance and leadership. After implementing a hybrid cloud solution based on vSphere, the city of Avondale realized that it needed to improve its backup and disaster strategy. The city wanted local backup services for fast recovery and a regionally separate disaster recovery site in case of a disaster. Avondale used VMware vCloud Air Disaster Recovery and vSphere to design, test and launch a new disaster recovery strategy in less than three months. As a result, the city can take advantage of the built-in test feature to run background failover testing and be confident in its ability to easily meet recovery time objectives for critical services.

 Jared distinguished himself immediately at VMware. He started up a new business unit and blew way every number we put in front of him. He also provided thought leadership as the business unit grew and over time, we had no choice but to give him more responsibility and promote him!

 Jared was the very first person I hired upon joining VMware. He performed tremendously as one of only two partner managers on board to help VMware develop partners and to drive partner recruitment.


Upon successful completion of that assignment, Jared shifted roles to drive VMware's key Solution Provider partners across the Southwest. Not only did he again do a tremendous job, but he built out a Partner Business Manager tool kit to aid his colleagues with tools, critical information, and best practices to make their jobs easier while accelerating the on-boarding of new hires into the organization.
 

 Jared is a trusted professional to his partners and his colleagues as well as a great team player and asset to VMware overall! His efforts helped our partners, our team, and me to achieve great success.

 I've had the pleasure of working with Jared for the past 4 years at VMware. Every role that he has held at VMware he has come up with creative ways to increase productivity, communication and partner enablement. He recently stepped up to be our Acting Area Partner Director and he was always there when we needed him. He represented the partner team with the executive team with open communication. Because of his tech-savvy ways he came up with great ways for our teams to communicate, and was able to help with taking over the busy work so that we could spend more time with our partners.
